British Swim School owner, Rita Goldberg, has worked continuously to develop, improve and fine tune these methods resulting in the ability to teach babies as young as 3 months old to roll over onto their backs. Our teaching is a gradual, gentle and fun process.

For more than three decades British Swim School has been teaching beginners of all ages the ability to float on their back is the most important survival skill of all. By doing this all swimmers are enabled to rest, breath, and call for help, alleviating the "silent" danger of floating face down. Beginning with babies as young as three months old we teach a gradual, gentle and fun process, however, we don't stop there! Higher class levels teach breathing and skill coordination as well as stroke techniques for team swimming.

Training and Support

We have a comprehensive training program that combines classroom, on-site and pool training. You will begin at our headquarters in Sunrise, FL for a week long training program including:

About the British Swim School Team

Rita Goldberg:

Before opening her British Swim School locations in the USA, Rita Goldberg was a national swimmer in Britain, who went on to become a dedicated teacher. Working in the education system for many years, she left to open her own private swim school in 1981 in the basement of a Victorian house in Manchester, England. It was there she developed the unique teaching methods that have become the recognized trademark of British Swim School

10 years later, Rita emigrated to the USA, started her British Swim School in Coral Springs. British Swim School has grown rapidly and there are now British Swim School locations in three states. Rita is still a driving force behind the success of British Swim School system and is an active member of the US Swim School Association and served as a board member.

Antony White:

Antony worked in Higher Education in Britain as an administrator before moving to the United States in 1997 to join Rita and British Swim School as a manager and quickly fell in love with the British Swim School model and mission. He has been instrumental in the training and operations ever since and became Rita's business partner in 2002. Antony is in charge of British Swim School operations for all corporate locations and for British Swim School Franchising, LLC.
