The Grandy’s Story Grandy’s began as the dream of Walter E. Johnson and Rex E. Sanders, who became friends while working together as teenagers at a Dallas cafeteria. After launching and selling a successful chain of chicken restaurants, the two young men saw the need for a new type of restaurant- one that combined the efficiency of fast food with the ambience of a full-service comfort food restaurant. From that concept, Grandy’s County Cookin’ was born in 1973

Home style in a Hurry Unlike other quick-service restaurants, Grandy’s serves homestyle meals that are sure to satisfy any appetite at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our hearty breakfast, consisting of a combination of scrambled eggs, hotcakes, breakfast meat, breakfast sandwiches and freshly baked biscuits, are nostalgic of a time when breakfast was served at a kitchen table instead of behind a steering wheel. Grandy’s chicken, county fried streak, catfish, warm soft dinner rolls and variety of vegetables are reminiscent of Sunday dinner at Grandma’s house.

We proof and bake our dinner rolls, biscuits and signature “Sinnamon” rolls right in our kitchen.
