Overview

A Parcel Plus pack and ship franchise is an ideal way to invest in your community by providing a solutions-based business. A growing number of Americans own home-based businesses. This creates the opportunity for private mail boxes, packing, shipping, copying, faxing and notary services. Along with the retail product offerings of a Parcel Plus, your new business venture becomes even more attractive.

Products & Services

Since 1986 Parcel Plus has been serving communities large and small by providing packaging and shipping solutions to the every day consumer as well as big businesses.

As a part of the ICED family of franchises, Parcel Plus owners are trained to provide superior customer satisfaction and are instilled with a problem/solution attitude for customers’ packing and shipping needs.

Customers are our number one priority at Parcel Plus. Each member of the Parcel Plus team is committed to ensuring your shipping solutions are solved. We understand every customer’s needs are different and unique. That’s why we have an extensive variety of services to offer, and packing and shipping options to fit your personal and business needs.

Training & Support

All training for new Parcel Plus owners begins before your initial training program at our international headquarters outside of Houston. Each new owner is sent pre-training materials to bring them up to speed on policies and procedures of owning a Parcel Plus. Training continues during an intense two and a half week training program. We provide all new owners with site selection support by researching your area and providing you with options as to the best location for a viable pack and ship business.

Initial training will take place at our beautiful Northwest Forest campus where you will learn from our knowledgeable staff as well as from other Parcel Plus owners. The pack and ship business can be complex; that’s why we equip our owners with the tools necessary to shorten the learning curve. During training, you will have the opportunity to visit a local Parcel Plus franchise to learn the day to day operations of a pack and ship business. In addition, new owners receive assistance in installation and store set up. During your first week of business owners will be accompanied by an ICED representative to help with initial day to day operations.

We also assist our new owners with any financial questions or concerns that may arise. Do you need to know how much to set aside for your first year in business? What equipment should you invest in and how much inventory should you buy? We will help you make those decisions and stand beside you as you learn how to run your pack and ship business.

And your training doesn’t stop there. Ongoing support is always available. Owners have the option to take part in Quarterly Educational Summits as well as our annual Conference and Trade Show.

Why Parcel Plus?

Parcel Plus has an extensive marketing program that is designed to help Parcel Plus franchise owners attract and retain business quickly. Here are just a few of the programs we offer:

Direct Mail Programs – As a new Parcel Plus owner, you have the benefit of taking part in a targeted direct mail program to help you grow your business. During your start up year, postcards are mailed to households in your community to help generate business. As you continue to grow your pack and ship business, additional niche direct mail campaigns will become available.

Sales Training – Every new owner goes through our sales training seminars. The initial training program we have developed is second to none. In this program we focus on how to address the needs of a Parcel Plus’ ideal market and how to promote your products and services.

Tele-Appointment Calls – Our team of professional telemarketers will call the businesses in your area to help verify the accuracy of your mailing list and to identify decision makers within households and local businesses. They will also schedule personal appointments for you, helping you turn “cold calls” into “warm leads.”

As a Parcel Plus owner, your growth is our main goal! We are dedicated to equipping you with the tools necessary to build your pack and ship franchise.

Are You a Good Fit for Parcel Plus?

Your total investment to open a Parcel Plus franchise ranges between $150,420 and $197,095; this includes one year’s working capital. Three major variables determine your total investment:
  • Location – It costs more to do business in Boston than in Laredo, Texas, for example. Although, in smaller, more rural areas, new owners may require more working capital until they begin to see a significant profit.
  • Size – Our recommendation is that your Parcel Plus space range from 1,000 to 1,500 square feet.
  • Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment – How much of each of these will you need for your Parcel Plus? Other variables could include leasehold improvements and other build-out expenses.

The initial fee for your new Parcel Plus franchise, is $52,000. You have two options for financing the balance:
  • Conventional Bank Loan – Based on the cumulative assets of the borrower, the current interest rate and loan period, a loan package may or may not be required.
  • Small Business Administration (SBA) Loan – The assets of the borrower are not as critical with this type of loan. Though the interest rate may be higher, SBA loans often offer longer amortization periods. A loan package is required.
