New location opens in up-and-coming area
Jeff Buethe is hoping the location of his new Complete Nutrition store in Moline will help to 'pump-up' profits. 'Great location, great frontage. It looks like it's the up and coming area to be in,' said Buethe. The new store at 3939 41st Ave Drive in Moline will open it's doors for the first time Wednesday morning. 'Tons of traffic. Got great neighbors that are coming in, Chipotle, Starbucks, the (Book Rack),' said Buethe. Moline has spent years developing a number of projects along John Deere Road. Ray Forsythe, Planning and Development Director, has worked with the city and developers to offer tax incentives and TIF funding to help create major commercial developments. Two of them are set to break ground this year: Valley View Village and Case Creek Trails. Valley View Village will hold a new Menard's store which could begin construction in July. 'There's up to a million square feet of potential retail in that whole development,' said Forsythe. Case Creek Trails located behind the Quad City International Airport will hold an industrial park, a technology center, and some retail space. 'It's a great strategic location in the midwest, let alone in the Quad Cities,' said Forsythe. Forsythe says the two projects will bring in hundreds of millions of dollars in commercial investments in Moline, in the years to come. 'John Deere Road has some of the highest traffic counts of anywhere in the Quad Cities. So businesses looking for somewhere to locate are going to look somewhere on John Deere Road.'
