Sanrio, Inc. Launches Co-Brand Girl's Collection with Misha Lulu
Sanrio is proud to announce the launch of a co-branded childrenswear collection with contemporary children's brand Misha Lulu. Misha Lulu for Hello Kitty will launch for Fall 2011; the announcement is effective immediately.
"Misha Lulu for Hello Kitty is our first line of designer co-branded apparel for girls," said Janet Hsu, President of Sanrio, Inc. "The debut collection is inspired by nostalgia with vintage prints, silhouettes, accents and infuses modern fabrics and textures to perfectly capture the classic appeal of Hello Kitty. Moms that grew up with Hello Kitty will love this unique collection for their daughters."
Misha Lulu for Hello Kitty is a complete collection for infants, toddlers and girls, up to size 8. The retro modern collection is a tight mix of vintage silhouettes scaled down for the youngest set. Two very distinct deliveries make up the debut of this unique offering -- Homespun Hello Kitty will deliver in August and has a hand-sewn feel. A soft floral print and a Japanese-inspired "sketch" print are the basis for this group, which is designed on a neutral palette; the delivery features intricate details in trims such as patches on leggings, rick rack on dresses and crochet and applique embellishments. Retro-Modern Hello Kitty will deliver for September and is '60s, mod-inspired; highlights include a cotton/velvet romper and houndstooth hip length coat, as well as a long sleeve, plaid baby-doll dress with brushed gold button details and Hello Kitty appliques. The details give each group a distinct, quirky feel.
Each delivery also features specially designed t-shirts and leggings, elastic waist skirts, wide leg trousers and retro coats; coats are only available in toddler sizes. Retail prices for Misha Lulu for Hello Kitty will range from $38 for an organic cotton, long sleeve, ribbed t-shirt to $104 for the houndstooth coat with Hello Kitty appliqué and sherpa collar. The collection will be available at specialty retailers nationwide and is handmade with love in the USA.
"We are very honored to be working with such an iconic brand as Hello Kitty," said Karen Salazar, co-founder, Misha Lulu. "We believe that Hello Kitty and "Misha Lulu" are a perfect blend of nostalgia and fun. We hope that our new collection will be sought out as a treasure by mothers who grew up with Hello Kitty and would love to share this with their daughters."
