Sport Clips Haircuts’ MVP Moment Winner Takes “Extreme Slide” for the Prize

GEORGETOWN, Texas (August 31, 2011) -- Sport Clips Haircuts, the nation’s largest franchise dedicated to men’s and boys’ hair care, is giving Ben Douglas of O’Fallon, Mo. MVP status by choosing his “Extreme Slide” video as the winner of the “Your MVP Moment” video contest.  Douglas was familiar with Sport Clips from being a client in the St. Charles, Mo. store, and says his friends captured on video the winning belly-slide that went 20 – 30 feet beyond the watered-down plastic sheet in his front yard on Labor Day.  He heard about the MVP Moment contest on the radio and decided to enter the video at SportClipsMVP.com in the spring.

Sport Clips’ “Your MVP Moment” was a six-week campaign created by the franchise to serve as a virtual showroom for ordinary guys to share extraordinary moments.

“This is our second year to showcase our clients’ most memorable (and fun) everyday sports moment, as well as create buzz around our signature MVP hair care service,” says Sport Clips Vice President of Marketing Martha England.  “We had many creative videos entered for the campaign, but Ben’s slide got our attention.  Whether you’re 15 or 15-at-heart, fun moments such as this make it ‘Good to be a Guy.’”

Sport Clips plans to produce its newest, guy-centric commercial inspired by Ben’s winning antics in the year ahead.  In addition, he slides right into the Sport Clips’ MVP Moment grand prize of $10,000 and the rights to be known as a “Front yard, Belly-slide MVP!”
