PickUp USA Fitness Coming to Virginia
Basketball-Focused Fitness Club Opening in Charlottesville Area in 2017
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- PickUp USA Fitness (www.pickupusafitness.com), headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, announced today that they have awarded a new franchise location in Charlottesville, VA. This marks the first location on the East Coast for the fast-growing fitness club chain, and joins the list of PickUp USA gyms currently open or in development in Arizona, California, and Texas.
Founded in 2011, PickUp USA gyms are full-service fitness clubs with a focus on basketball. Their clubs offer group and private basketball training, weight and cardio rooms, lounges, locker rooms, retail merchandise, and the company's main attraction – pickup basketball with referees.
PickUp USA is anticipating accelerated growth for next year, projecting a total of 17 locations by the end of 2017. The company has franchise territories available in 38 states, and is actively expanding across the country.
The fitness club industry is becoming more and more specialized, and you can find gyms specializing in countless disciplines. PickUp USA is the only fitness club chain that has services focused on basketball, and their franchise program is generating substantial interest, as a result. 'Territories are going fast,' says Meinster. 'Our franchisees want to be first to market with our concept, and they want to secure the best possible territory for their PickUp USA facility.'
Paolo Ontalan is the Corporate Operations Trainer for PickUp USA, and is responsible for training franchisees how to operate PickUp USA gyms. Ontalan, originally from New Jersey, now works for PickUp USA's corporate office in Los Angeles, and sees a major market opportunity in Virginia. 'The Charlottesville location is going to do very well,' says Ontalan. 'The obsession with basketball runs high on the East Coast. This untapped market, eager to find a home to hoop year-round to avoid the inclement weather of the region, will be more than thrilled to find a facility that accommodates their unquenchable thirst for basketball.'
The Charlottesville location is expected to open in the late Spring of 2017.
