Sport Clips Haircuts Announces Expansion into Canada
Leading Men’s and Boys’ Hair Care Provider Plans Rapid Expansion in Canadian Markets
Georgetown, Texas (August 22, 2012) -- Sport Clips Haircuts, the nation’s leading men’s and boys’ hair care franchise, announced today its expansion into Canada. With more than 930 locations in the United States, Sport Clips plans to expand rapidly in the Canadian markets of Ontario (Toronto area), British Columbia (Vancouver, Lower Mainland), and Alberta (Calgary, Edmonton).
“Sport Clips is very excited about our expansion into Canada. We have been looking for the right partner (Master Licensee) for some time and feel that we have found the right fit with Peter Kowal and his team,” says Sport Clips Founder and CEO Gordon Logan. “Peter, a native Canadian, has been coaching both franchisors and franchisees in the United States for years and is uniquely positioned to drive Sport Clips’ growth in Canada.
“The combination of Canadians’ passion for sports and quality men’s and boys’ haircuts by Sport Clips’ ‘Guy Smart Stylists,’ should make Sport Clips a great fit for Canada. Our goal was to find partners who clearly understand Sport Clips’ focus on training and support to differentiate our quality Haircut Experience from other providers. We have found this commitment in Peter Kowal and his experienced franchise team.”
The first Sport Clips Haircuts location will open in London, Ontario in early 2013, with plans to expand rapidly across Canada. The company is projecting that 50 locations will openwithin the next three years by bringing on what Kowal calls the “right franchisee partners to dominate local markets.'
'Our Canadian franchise investment group had been looking for the right opportunity to expand a strong, established U.S. brand in Canada, and we believe we've found the perfect partner in Sport Clips,' said Peter J. Kowal, President and COO of Sport Clips Canada. 'It starts with our shared values and vision for growing in Canada, along with our unwavering belief in the brand.'
He outlined several additional details regarding Sport Clips:
- Motivated Canadian franchisees begin their Sport Clips ownership with multi-unit hair care franchised stores.
- One of the best things about being a Sport Clips owner is that the company tailors your growth schedule to meet your short and long-term objectives.
- There is no industry experience required, as locations are manager run, eliminating the need for owners to be onsite daily and affording them the opportunity to continue their current employment.
- Haircutting is a multi-billion industry, and Sport Clips is the only hair cut franchise that caters to the over 16 million men and boys in Canada.
Sport Clips offers Canadian owner/investor opportunities in 3-packs ($49,500 CDN), 5-packs ($69,500 CDN) or 10-packs ($129,500 CDN), with the goal of becoming the leading men’s and boys’ hair provider in each market developed.
