When America Corrales, the visionary behind the authentic Mexican fare of America's Taco Shop®, first came to the U.S. from her native Mexico, her most precious possession was a collection of her mother's hand-written recipes. For nine years, America shared these authentic, flavorful Mexican foods only with her friends and her husband, Terry Bortin. Terry would sit and enjoy America’s cooking at their kitchen table in Phoenix, Arizona where they dreamed together about someday serving these home-cooked meals in a fast food Mexican restaurant of their own.
That dream became a reality in 2008, when America and Terry opened the first America's Taco Shop in Phoenix. It was an instant smash hit and it didn't take long for customers to flock to America's Taco Shop for its unmatched Carne Asada. Recognized by Nation's Restaurant News® as one of the'Top 50 Breakout Brands' in 2013, America's Taco Shop is now bringing its bold, hand-crafted recipes to customers across the nation.
