COLTS NECK, N.J. (September 9, 2016)Retro Fitness’ third annual Fit For Fame contest culminated on September 1 when The Lisa Polizzi Band performed at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater prior to a concert by a Grammy award-winning artist. In partnership with Nikon at Jones Beach Theater, Fit For Fame gives aspiring stars living in Long Island a chance to showcase their talents at the music venue in front of thousands.

The Lisa Polizzi Band is comprised of Long Island native and lead singer, Lisa Polizzi, guitarist Rick Ventura, bass player Jim Falacara and drummer Claudio Galinski. Since 2013, the band has been a hot ticket among local residents who flock to hear their unique renditions of some of the greatest hits from Disco, Country, Blues, Pop and more. Lisa was nominated and voted “Best of Long Island 2014” as a singer by Long Island Press and the band was nominated for “Rock Artist of the Year” for 2015 by the Josie Show Awards in Nashville.

“Performing at Jones Beach is one of those milestones that you dream of achieving as an up and coming brand,” said Lisa Polizzi. “We’re so thankful that Retro Fitness provided us with the opportunity to entertain our loyal fans at a great venue and introduce new fans to our music.”

This year’s contest format was different than years’ past with the competition expanded to allow bands, dancers and other performers to enter. The Lisa Polizzi band and others entered the contest by submitting a 20-second video through the Fit For Fame Facebook App and mobilizing their fans to vote using the hashtag #LongIslandsGotTalent.

“It was gratifying to see such a wide range of talented performers in Long Island all vying for the chance to become a Fit For Fame winner,” added Eric Casaburi, CEO and founder of Retro Fitness. “Though it was a fierce contest, we’re thrilled to give The Lisa Polizzi band the stage to reach new fans and showcase their hard work.”
