Amorini Panini Launches Innovative Franchise Program: Local Restaurant Aims to Put 'The Panini...Done Right' in Restaurants Across the East Coast
WASHINGTON, Sept. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Amorini Panini, the local, fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in fresh, grilled-to-perfection Panini's, will begin a franchise operation to make the Panini a go-to delicacy up and down the east coast. The fast casual restaurant has launched a robust franchise expansion model based on an exceptional level of support and strategic guidance to prospective owners.
Founder Matt Gray, who started Amorini Panini with its first press in 2010, is excited to make the lesser-known style of sandwich a culinary contender amongst national juggernauts of the restaurant industry. After realizing the Panini was absent from local on-the-go restaurants, Gray was inspired to launch the flagship store in D.C.'s Penn Quarter Neighborhood.
'Starbucks created coffee. Chipotle created the burrito. Amorini Panini is creating the Panini,' Gray said.
After the launch of the first store, customers lined up for the artisan menu - featuring options such as the Montana Buffalo Chicken, and the Southwestern, along with signature soups and salads - and business quickly grew to capacity. A food truck, which Gray dubbed the 'Panini Machine,' started taking Panini's curbside. Another brick-and-mortar store opened in Farragut Square and in July 2013, Gray launched the second food truck in response to the ever-expanding customer base.
Building on Amorini Panini's local success with vacationing families and busy professionals, Gray has shifted his focus from 'selling Panini's to our franchise system.' Gray worked with The iFranchise Group to develop a system that was proven to be successful in different markets and with various demographics.
The system boasts an impressive support structure, which begins with pre-opening training, and continues with week long on-site guidance after each store's grand opening. Another benefit, unique in the restaurant franchising industry, is the food truck, which allows for additional revenue as well as expands the customer base. Gray feels it is important to foster a 'team' relationship with his franchisees, allowing them to focus on serving quality food with superior customer service while the corporate staff provides the support necessary to ensure success.
