Choice Hotels International makes Rockville move official

Date: Tuesday, July 12, 2011, 1:41pm EDTSilver Spring-based Choice Hotels International, which said last fall it intended to relocate its corporate headquarters to Rockville, has made it official with the signing of a lease for its new home.
Choice has occupied the same buildings in Silver Spring for the last 43 years.
It will move to a brand new building at Rockville Town Center when its lease expires in 2013. The building, called Rockville Metro Plaza II, is expected to break ground this summer.
Choice (NYSE: CHH) will occupy 130,000 square feet. Foulger-Pratt Cos. will build, own and manage the property, at 121 Rockville Pike.
“Rockville Town Center is the ideal location for Choice Hotels , offering easy access to Metro bus and rail service as well as a wealth of dining and shopping options for our associates, franchisees and our many visitors and business associates,” said Choice CEO Stephen Joyce.
Financial terms of the lease weren’t disclosed. Studley represented Choice.
